After her third place in Norway a few weeks ago, Italian Laura Tomasi of UAE Team ADQ returned to the podium of a WorldTour race with a splendid second place today in the sprint that decided the second stage of the Simac Ladies Tour, 117.8 km with start and finish in Ede, Holland. Ahead of her only the strong European champion Lorena Wiebes of Team DSM.

“This second place for me is like a victory,” said Laura Tomasi after the race, “the fastest rider won and I’m happy with my sprint. I have to thank my teammates, especially Linda Zanetti and Eugenia Bujak, who helped me find the best position in the final. We had passed under the finish line twice in the previous laps and I had seen that it was important to arrive in the right position. I'm happy, it's a great day for me and thanks to the whole team”.

A placing that repays the excellent work of the whole team and gives great confidence ahead of the next stages.

Laura Tomasi seconda allo sprint nella seconda tappa del Simac Ladies Tour Dopo il terzo posto ottenuto in Norvegia qualche settimane fa, l’italiana Laura Tomasi di UAE Team ADQ torna sul podio di una gara WorldTour con uno splendido secondo posto ottenuto oggi nello sprint che ha deciso la seconda tappa del Simac Ladies Tour, 117.8 km con partenza e arrivo a Ede, in Olanda. Davanti a lei solamente la forte campionessa europea Lorena Wiebes del Team DSM.

“Questo secondo posto per me è come una vittoria – ha detto Laura Tomasi dopo la corsa–, ha vinto l’atleta più veloce e io sono contenta della mia volata. Devo ringraziare le mie compagne, in particolare Linda Zanetti ed Eugenia Bujak che nel finale mi hanno aiutato a trovare la posizione migliore. Eravamo passate due volte sotto il traguardo nei giri precedenti e avevo visto che era importante arrivare nella posizione giusta. Sono felice, è una grande giornata per me e grazie a tutto il team”.

Un piazzamento che ripaga l'ottimo lavoro di tutto il team e dà grande fiducia in vista delle prossime tappe.
