Today, we are pleased to announce our newcomer Eleanora Gasparrini who has chosen to continue her growth with UAE Team ADQ next season. At only 20 years old, she has already 2 years of competition in the World Elite Cycling level, and she is ready to fight in a World Tour Team.

The Italian rider, at only the age of 20 only, has spent two years of competing in elite cycling and has strongly demonstrated that she has the qualities and right attitude to do the job and be a real asset to UAE Team ADQ. On 21st August, she celebrated her first victory as a pro-cyclist at the MerXem Classic in Belgium.

In Junior category, she won both the Italian and European Road Championship and a series of European and World titles on the track. She is a complete athlete who can defend herself well even on the most demanding courses and has very good sprint skills. She achieved a podium at the Ronde van Drenthe and this year, in addition to the aforementioned victory, she won the title of Italian Road Champion among the Under-23 Women, stood on the podium of a stage at the Simac Ladies Tour and was among the best young riders at the Festival Elsy Jacobs, at the RideLondon Classique and at the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas. She also celebrates her first participation in Tour de France Femmes.

Eleonora Gasparrini has very clear ideas: I have always thought of taking one step at a time and taking my time in order to grow in the best possible way. Seeing how the world of women's cycling has evolved in recent years, the time was right to take the big leap into the World Tour. I chose UAE Team ADQ because I think it's the right team where I can have the chance to continue to grow at the right pace in the best conditions. I still have a lot to learn and for sure my new teammates will be able to teach me many things. I can't wait to attend the first training camp to get to know everyone and the amazing project behind!”.

The team and all the riders of UAE Team ADQ are an example for many women in the UAE. For me this is a great honour. I hope that as the years go by, what we do as women in sport will become less and less an exception and more and more a normal thing, and that we will see more and more women cycling and practicing sport,” says Gaparrini.

With great humility, thinking about next season, Eleonora puts herself at the service of the team: We will be a good group. My main role will be to help the team as much as possible, and if some personal results come along I will be happy”.

UAE Team ADQ General Manager Rubens Bertogliati said: “We believe a lot in Eleonora Gasparrini. She is a very promising young rider. Her results in 2021 had convinced us. After a somewhat problematic start to the season for her, from a physical point of view, in these final months of the year she proved to be a very good athlete. She is very young and still has a lot of growing up to do, but I’m super happy to have her in our team. She is our arrow shot into the future”.
