UAE Team ADQ has the pleasure to sign a 2 years contract with the 23-year-old New Zealand rider Mikayla Harvey.

For the past two seasons, she has worn the Canyon//SRAM Racing jersey and has now decided to open a new chapter in her career with the UAE Team ADQ female team.

Despite her young age, Harvey has achieved some important placings in her career, such as fifth place in the final classification of the 2020 Giro d'Italia Women's race and seventh place at La Flèche Wallone Fémenine in the same year.

Mikayla is a strong all-rounder cyclist and faced adversity with the right mindset. In 2022, she ranked herself in the Top 10 classification of the Festival Elsy Jacobs in Luxembourg. In 2021, she won the youth classification at the Tour de Suisse Women and was also the best young rider at the Giro 2020.
Previously, she won both Oceania ITT champion and New Zealand national ITT champion among the Under-23 Women and the Junior category.

A track record that testifies to the great potential and added value to the Team.

Mikayla Harvey from New Zealand, who has been living in Italy for a few years now, explains her choice: “I’m happy to start this new experience with UAE Team ADQ. I choose this team because I was looking for a team that would inspire me, push me out of my comfort zone, get new opportunities and help me reach beyond my potential. The team is new and developing with a real support provided to the rider and I am convinced, it is the perfect place for me!

Mikayla is also very happy to be part of a project that focuses on women and is an inspiration for many ladies in the UAE. “For me as an athlete it is important that I can make a positive impact on society. So, I am really excited to be part of the project to support and promote female sport in the UAE. It is a dream of mine to empower women and inspire everyone to follow their ambitions”.

UAE Team ADQ General Manager Rubens Bertogliati said: "Mikayla Harvey had two challenging years and needs new incentives but she has the right mindset to overcome and improve herself. She has made very specific demands of us: she wants to improve in time trials and become competitive again for stage races. She will also be our hope for the overall stage race classification. Working with her in the right way, will allow her to be back at the highest level”.
