She was one of the most eagerly awaited athletes on the eve of this race and this time as well and Erica Magnaldi confirmed expectations. In fact, the 31-year-old Italian took an important third place at the GP Féminin de Chambéry. This third place is the best season result for Erica Magnaldi, a UAE Team ADQ athlete who today competed with the UAE Development Team girls.

In fact, the 31-year-old Italian took an important third place at the GP Féminin de Chambéry. This third place is the best season result for Erica Magnaldi, a UAE Team ADQ athlete who today competed with the UAE Development Team girls.
In fact, at the start of the GP Féminin de Chambéry in addition to Erica were New Zealand's Lola Bryson-Boe, Germany's Hannah Kunz, and Italians Emma Redaelli, Francesca Pellegrini, Federica Piergiovanni, and Federica Venturelli.
The important moments of the race were mainly two. The first moment was the breakaway of Anabel Yapura Plaza. The Argentine athlete was in the lead alone for many kilometers (maximum lead of 48 seconds over the immediate pursuers) until she was caught and pulled away by Belgian Lore de Schepper. This was the second important moment: Lore de Schepper remained in the lead and defended the advantage of about half a minute until the finish line.
Behind her, the UAE Development Team athletes competed to the best of their ability: Federica Venturelli attempted an attack, but the group caught her up, while Erica Magnaldi was always one of the best when the road began to climb.
On the last lap Erica Magnaldi took advantage on the climb together with other athletes and in the final, Erica did very well to take third place behind Evita Muzic. Here are her words:
"It was a really difficult race from the beginning," Erica said, "It was really hot today. I think it was the first really hot race day. The race was nervous, we were a bit unlucky because we had some mechanical problems. That's why we spent some energy at the beginning, but my teammates were great and helped me a lot. In the final there were a lot of climbs and a lot of attacks. The girl in the breakaway went very strong, we were only a few seconds behind her, I have to say 'Chapeau' to her. I am quite satisfied with my performance because I was able to get on the podium. Of course, it would have been better to win, but to be on the podium is still nice."
