Last week, the Irish city of Cork, known also as the headquarters of multinational corporations like Apple, Amazon, IBM, etc., hosted the Annual congress of the European Business Angel Network (EBAN), this time around under the title 'Reconnect, Reimagine, Reinvest'. In just two days, more than 330 prominent participants attended the biggest international event of business angels in Europe. After two years, the Congress again took place with direct participation and in light of reconnecting the investors, business angels, and entrepreneurs with new initiatives and projects. The participants attended various workshops, listened to renowned speakers, as well as the pitching presentations of projects and ideas of businesses seeking start-up capital.

Also attending the Congress was Mr. Kristjan Verbič, the President of VZMD, who, upon his arrival, took part in the Gala banquet and Award ceremony. At the Congress, he spoke to, among others, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence, Simon Coveney (in the photo), the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath, as well as many other decision-makers, business people, and participants. Furthermore, he met with the President of the Business Angels of Slovenia, Ms. Nina Dremelj (in the photo), and they agreed to strengthen the cooperation both in Slovenia and internationally.

As part of the efforts of the international business-investor programs: Invest to Slovenia – investo.si and International Investors` Network – investo.international, VZMD has been successfully collaborating with EBAN for over a decade (VIDEOS from the Annual congresses in 2013 in Vienna, in 2014 in Istanbul, the reports from the meetings in Eindhoven in 2015, Malaga in 2017, Helsinki in 2019), taking every chance to present the investment opportunities, activities, and possibilities brought about by the programs investo.si and investo.international.

Visiting Cork was another stop in the series of visits as part of this year's first tour of VZMD's international business-investor programs, which had already taken Mr. Verbič to the meeting of the Executive Board of the World Federation of Investors (WFI) in Ghent, the business meeting at the European Federation of Investors (BETTER FINANCE) in Brussels, as well as many events that were part of the international forum 'Impower – Incorporating FundForum' in Monte Carlo. Immediately after EBAN, Mr. Verbič moved to London where he has already had a friendly business meeting with the President of the WFI and the President of the UK Individual Shareholders Society (ShareSoc), Mark Northway (in the photo), and will continue the tour with a visit to the forum of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).

While international conferences and nearly all related events during the pandemic were either cancelled or took place in a virtual format and remotely, this spring finally saw the return of many events with an option of direct participation. In the past two years, the programs investo.si and investo.international provided strong presence in many virtual conferences and events, and in September 2021 in Bled, VZMD – together with BETTER FINANCE – organized the International Investor Conference under the title 'European Capital Markets for Individual Investors' and the very first direct meeting of the international investor representatives (VIDEO highlights of this high-profile conference: https://youtu.be/JoaQyqZlVwg) after the pandemic had been declared.

VZMD continuously strives to actively present the opportunities, projects, and partners of their international business-investor programs. In this light, agreements had already been made for this year's second international tour with the participation at the conference of BETTER FINANCE 'A New Era of Investor Protection, Sustainability & Pension Reform' in Athens and the Roadshow of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI).
