After 158.4 km and several attacks, with one and a half kilometres to go she managed to escape together with Dutchwoman Amber Kraak who she then beat in the sprint. It was Mavi's fourth victory of the season.
A well-deserved reward for her and for the whole team, who again did a magnificent job today.

At the decisive moment of the race there were 14 riders left in front. They represented all the best teams and Mavi Garcia was quick to enter into the decisive breakaway. They gained over a minute and a half advantage over the peloton. The Spaniard of UAE Team ADQ was among the most active, tried a couple of attacks on the climbs, but was unable to distance her rivals. Then, when everything was hinting at a final sprint, a new attack by Mavi, the decisive one, and together with Kraak they went for the victory.

These are the words of Mavi Garcia after the finish line: "I didn't expect to win today, also because during the night I hadn't felt very well. I tried at least a couple of times to attack on the climbs, but I couldn't break away from any of my opponents and so I was almost resigned, also because I know that in the sprint I don't have much of a chance. Instead, with 1.5 kilometres to go, I tried again to attack, Amber Kraak chased me and we managed to get away. In the sprint fortunately the other girl wasn’t very fast either and I managed to win. I’m almost incredulous, but happy. I know I have a very good condition and I hope to continue like this in the next races”.---

Dopo 158.4 km e vari attacchi, a un chilometro e mezzo dall'arrivo è riuscita a scappare insieme all'olandese Amber Kraak che poi ha battuto in volata. È la quarta vittoria della stagione per Mavi.
Il meritato premio per lei e per tutto il team che anche oggi ha svolto un magnifico lavoro.

Nel momento decisivo della corsa sono rimaste 14 atlete davanti. Rappresentante tutte le migliori squadre e Mavi Garcia è stata lesta ad inserirsi nella fuga decisiva. Hanno guadagnato oltre un minuto e mezzo di vantaggio sul gruppo. La spagnola di UAE Team ADQ è stata tra le più attive, ha provato un paio di attacchi in salita, ma non è riuscita a distanziare le sue avversarie. Poi, quando meno te l’aspetti, quando tutto lasciava pensare ad una volata finale, un nuovo allungo di Mavi, quello decisivo e insieme a Kraak vanno a giocarsi la vittoria.

Queste le parole di Mavi Garcia dopo il traguardo: "Non me l'aspettavo oggi di vincere anche perché durante la notte non mi ero sentita molto bene. Ci ho provato almeno un paio di volte ad attaccare in salita, ma non sono riuscita a staccare nessuna delle mie avversarie e quindi mi ero quasi un po' rassegnata anche perché so che in volata non ho molte chance. Invece, a 1 chilometro e mezzo dall'arrivo, ho provato ancora un allungo, Amber Kraak mi ha inseguito e siamo riuscite a scappare via. In volata fortunatamente nemmeno l'altra ragazza era molto veloce e sono riuscita a vincere. Sono quasi incredula, ma felice. So di avere un'ottima condizione e spero di continuare così anche per le prossime gare”.
